COOKIE LAYER:
1/2 butter, softened
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or spray a 9" x 13" pan; set aside.
Beat butter, both sugars and vanilla until creamy. Add the egg and beat until light and creamy, about 2 minutes.
Whisk flour, salt and baking soda together; stir into the butter mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips and spread mixture into the prepared pan.
BROWNIE LAYER:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
Repeat process of spreading evenly in pan over the cookie layer.
Bake at 350 degrees 20-25 minutes or until done.
