I got this recipe 25-years-ago from the Premier issue of Quick Cooking magazine.
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup baking cocoa
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 cup hot water
Frosting of your choice
Colored sprinkles, optional
In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Stir in oil, buttermilk and eggs. Add water and stir until combined.
Pour batter into a 13-in x 9-in baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-38 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool completely in pan then frost with your favorite frosting.
