ORANGE NUT BREAD

 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

4 tsp baking powder

1 1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

2 tbsp grated orange peel

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1 cup orange juice

1/4 cup butter, melted

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Stir in the walnuts and orange peel.

In a small bowl, beat eggs, milk, orange juice and butter until smooth. Stir into the flour mixture until moistened. Pour batter evenly into two greased 8-inch loaf pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pans 10 minutes then remove and cool completely on wire rack.

Yield: 2 loaves
